Description
Contemporary Semine lounge chair in paper machè technic and iron structure by Domingos Tótora.
Totora produces his works from discarded cartons recycled, each piece has their own time to be ready, his process is completely handcrafted.
About the artist:
Born and raised in Maria da Fé, a small Southeastern Brazilian town in the Mantiqueira Mountains, Domingos Tótora finds in this habitat of expression and experimentation not only his roots and affective ties, but also his main source of inspiration: nature. Surrounded by the local landscape, the designer works with a surprising raw material, recycled cardboard, to create furniture, objects and sculptural pieces. The beauty of Tótora’s work manifests itself not only in the finished piece, but also in the careful, certified sustainable process through which cardboard, which originated as wood, is essentially brought back full cycle by taking on a wood-like quality again through the careful work of the designer’s hands. -
