Description
This modular leather sofa reflects the Durlet's commitment to comfort, craftsmanship, and understated modernism. The composition consists of six elements—two single-seat modules, three corner sections, and a matching ottoman. The generously proportioned cushions are upholstered in supple brown leather, which has developed a nuanced patina over time, enhancing the sofa’s sculptural presence and tactile appeal. The dark base subtly anchors the composition, emphasizing its horizontal lines.
Although no specific designer has been formally attributed to this model, the piece aligns closely with the broader tradition of Belgian modernist seating from the period, where modularity and comfort were central concerns. Durlet’s production during the 1970s often focused on adaptable seating systems that responded to evolving interior landscapes. In its current configuration, the sofa comfortably accommodates five to six people, combining functional flexibility with a strong architectural character suited to refined interiors. -
