This striking, hand-made bench was just built and is presently available for purchase.

The ebonized mahogany sides of my Parenthetical Bench are hand-sculpted creating a tapering, curved outer surface. The walnut seat nests into two angled notches in the sides which are dimensionally proud of the seat, emphasizing the tenon-reinforced connection. Two rails that run between the sides beneath the seat provide all the strength needed while maintaining the light, minimal appearance.

The Parenthetical Bench is an award winning design that has been built in a variety of sizes -from 2' in length for a space-limited entry, to over 6' in length for museum seating. The bench pictured is 3.5 feet. This versatile design has also been created in a number of wood and finish combinations. Please contact me to purchase or discuss options.
