Description
Ottoman by Edward Wormley for Dunbar, USA, c.1960s. The tufted double seat cushion is newly upholstered in a Sand Sherpa Boucle by Kravet, a beautiful compliment to the rich walnut frame. The frame showcases four tapered legs with two connecting stretchers. Dunbar brass plaque attached to the bottom.
Edward Wormley was a longtime director of design for the Dunbar furniture company and was one of the leading forces in bringing modern design into American homes in the mid-20th century. In the mid-1940s, Wormley guided Dunbar to devote their total production focus to modern furniture. His designs were included in the MoMA "Good Design" exhibitions of the 1950s besides Harry Bertoia, George Nelson, Charles & Ray Eames, among others.
