English 19th Century Mahogany Window Seat

This 19th century hall bench, or window seat, from England shows impeccable quality within the natural characteristics of the wood and the skill of the carver, its depth of color now lightly patinated from time & use. Solid, cylindrical wood arms bookend the wide, flat bench that is easily adaptable between seating and a table for living rooms, hallways, windows, and more. Turned legs are the defining feature of this piece, carved as a gadrooned motif at the capital before tapering sharply into the feet. The bench has been gently cleaned and polished with a French past wax to maintain all the historic character. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
