Description
Low and petite Isa Bergamo arm/club chairs attributed to Gio Ponti characterized by pronounced/exaggeratedly sculpted arms in chocolate vinyl with button tufted details (ca. 1950s, Italy).
Original spring construction present with the frame supported by hand-painted gilt metal feet. Seat is not cushy, as the springs don't offer the same soft support as foam would.
Vinyl upholstery was a later addition and is in very, good, vintage condition with a few minor scuffs, as shown. Feet show minor gilt loss/light wear.
Elegant, versatile design and small scale, suitable for both living room and boudoir use. Note that these are not only small in size but low to the ground (4.75" height between floor and frame).
Listing is for the pair.
