Description
Vintage Italian organic-form sofa with sculptural, winged-arm rests and deeply curved back supported by four brass, splayed legs (ca. 1950s).
Chic, modernist design, presenting well from all angles with its soft, gentle curves.
In need of re-upholstery - as in this case, muslin upholstery is often used as a blank canvas to best exhibit the frame. This muslin was heavily used, even though it was only intended to serve as the base, and therefore shows ample wear (holes/soiling). Seat height/style can be adjusted based on preference, as there are presently no seat cushions (loose cushions can be made, or a uniformly even foam seat can be added and upholstered over).
Cast brass legs show heavy patina/tarnish consistent with age. Much of the wear can be eradicated with polishing.
Possesses design attributes of Gio Ponti, Guglielmo Veronesi, and Federico Munari, but confirmed designer is unknown.
Sourced in Rome, Italy.
