Description
A striking set of four Grosfeld House dining chairs that capture the glamour and disciplined elegance synonymous with American design of the 1940s. Sculptural yet refined, each chair features Grosfeld’s signature neoclassical sensibility—gracefully tapered legs, a lyrical vase-form splat, and delicately caned backs framed in a softly bleached finish that lends the group an airy sophistication. The seats have been newly upholstered in a dramatic tiger velvet, introducing a bold, exotic note that plays beautifully against the restrained architecture of the frames. The juxtaposition of tailored silhouette and spirited textile feels quintessentially Grosfeld—polished, theatrical, and effortlessly chic.
These chairs strike the same note of elegance and glamour so masterfully achieved by designers such as Dorothy Draper and Billy Haines. Equally compelling in a dining room, library, or as occasional seating, these chairs bring a glamorous old-Hollywood spirit while remaining remarkably versatile. A rare set with presence, personality, and the kind of sculptural line that elevates a room instantly.
