Description
Fabricius & Kastholm FK87 in Patinated Cognac Leather 1960s
This highly rare lounge chair model ‘FK87’ is one of the most remarkable designs by Preben Fabricius & Jørgen Kastholm, for Kill International, 1960s. It is an original old version, still holding the beautifully aged original leather and canvas. The chair is nicknamed ‘Grasshopper’, obviously referring to the shape of its frame. With its clear lines, openness and dynamic appearance, it shows the inventiveness and originality of this worldwide renowned designer duo.
The chair features a thin yet sturdy chromed metal frame, with padded seat and back cushion. The down filled head rest adds to the incredible comfort of this chair, while the leather details of the armrests make a wonderful and subtle detail. Its quality is unparalleled, often to be seen in the work of Fabricius and Kastholm.
This lounge chair is both interesting and visually attractive from every point of view. With its strong character and floating appearance this collectable is a truly desirable masterpiece.
Please note the chair is in a good yet used vintage condition. Both the leather and canvas show signs of age and use, as well as the chrome frame. The canvas and leather have been professionally restored where needed, with great attention for its original appearance and value. Feel free to contact us for further information and additional pictures.
