Set of two Regency black painted and gilded chairs.
-
Description
John Gee (1779-1824) was chair maker with a Royal seal. This set of two arm chairs (side chairs are sold) is distinctly different than most Gee chairs with an almost Art Deco approach to design with the shaped tablet back, the brass roundels, no middle cross stretcher between the stiles and finally the brass handle on the tablet crest. Their stylishness is distinctly different to most Gee and Regency chairs.
