Description
A collector's delight. Designed by John Vesey (1924-1992) circa 1958, the form of this folding bench/chair was inspired by antique Savonarola chair, yet both the design and the choice of material were radically modern. Constructed in square aluminum slabs, heavy, industrial-sleek without seams, and contrasted with stained walnut arm accents, the chair has a precise folding mechanism and an aesthetics of minimalism, yet one can still discern an air of antiquity. This subtle modern interpretation of antiquity was a key concept of John Vesey's design philosophy.
When folded the chair measures 35" h x 7.75" d x 13.25" w.
