Description
Wonderful curved stools, just right for your bum, with storage under the seats! Denmark, 1930–40s. Constructed of Elm and freshly upholstered in an antique piece of African mud cloth - this brilliant indigo dye is prized for its beauty and believed to carry protective qualities. Handmade in Mali. Super cool. Priced per stool, 2 available.
18.25" W X 15" D x 18.5" H (when open 34" H)
Malian mud cloth: handwoven and dyed using a traditional process with plant-based indigo, fermented mud, and plenty of patience. Each step is done by hand, and the results are full of patterns with deep cultural meaning. Traditionally, hunters wore them, while brighter versions were saved for special rituals. This piece is vintage, so it shows its age—with possible stains, holes, or other perfectly imperfect signs of its history. -
