This sofa by Kazuhide Takahama is the perfect fusion of typical Japanese minimalism and Italian luxury of that period.
Takahama’s design philosophy saw furniture as a sculptural ‘box’ capable of containing comfort. The alternation between the cold, perfect and reflective lacquer and the warm and welcoming softness of the padded cushions creates an aesthetic tension with great visual impact.
