-
Description
Hand built chair with green army surplus strapping and pitch pine frame, 1949. Klaus Grabe was a German designer and architect who emigrated to the United States with fellow Bauhaus members in 1933. Influenced by Breuer's works in plywood, Grabbe's designs of the late 1940s were produced in limited numbers using fine crafted organic materials and surplus canvas. Small chips off of the veneer are shown in the images.
