Celebrated interior designer Charles Pfister, whose personal design philosophy was “restrained elegance,” designed this perfectly proportioned club chair in 1971. In his words: “There is a movement away from throw-away society, away from disposable possessions. Instead there is a mounting interest in useful, sculptural, wonderfully constructed objects … such objects are a triumph in any setting.”
