Charles Pfister

Charles Pfister was an American architect and furniture designer who was born in 1939 in California and passed away in 1990. He is known for his sleek and functional furniture designs that combine clean lines and elegant forms with high-quality materials and craftsmanship.
 
Pfister began his career as an architect, working for the renowned design firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in San Francisco. He later moved to Switzerland, where he worked for the architectural firm of Tschumi and then for Knoll International, a leading furniture manufacturer.
 
At Knoll, Pfister designed a number of iconic furniture pieces, including the Pfister Lounge Chair, the Pfister Sofa, and the Pfister Ottoman. These designs are characterized by their simple, geometric forms, use of high-quality materials such as leather and chrome, and attention to detail.
 
Pfister's furniture designs have been featured in numerous museums and exhibitions, and they continue to be sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts today.
