Pair of vintage slipper sling chairs in charcoal bouclé with off-white powder-coated steel frames designed by Bruce Hannah and Andrew Morrison for Knoll (1971, New York, NY USA). The design was inspired by the extruded aluminum of a sailboat mast.
Upholstery is a subtle two-tone gray bouclé, and either side can be displayed: the front cushions are a charcoal bouclé (Kravet 36114-11), and the back is a slate bouclé (Kravet 36120-21) - the front is a shade lighter and the weave is looser than the back.
Original off-white powder coated frames show light nicks/scuffs/few small spots of loss consistent with age/use, and the steel back frame bars show light scuffing. Newly reupholstered.
One chair retains the dated (1971) Knoll International label.
Corresponding three-seat armless sofa listed separately.
