A wonderful circa 1770 French provincial Louis XVI fauteuil in original 'gris' paint, the narrow back and wide seat (typically connoting a ladies chair for gowns) having late 19th century floral and ribbon needlepoint tapestry upholstery. Seat measures 19" x 24".

This chair is wonderful and charming for the following: original paint (stable) with obvious age distress/wear; antique upholstery faded, soiled, stained, threadbare, and with losses pictured.
