Description
Pair of cube armchairs of Italian production from the 1960s.
The attribution of these armchairs is a rather debated topic. In all likelihood they are armchairs designed by Luigi Caccia Dominioni for Azucena, alongside a second model, where a chromed steel band is always used, which contains the armrests and the backrest, but more elaborate than this one. A second hypothesis is that of Kazuhide Takahama for Simon, although with less evidence. In any case, the armchairs are made with a chromed steel frame (the chrome is slightly worn in some places), which contains five cushions of almost identical dimensions: backrest, two armrests and two seat cushions. For the covering we used a vinyl-coated linen fabric, which gives strength and character to the seats. -
