Description
This magnificent Odd Fellows Fraternal Lodge 'throne' (circa 1910-1920) with carved and painted decoration throughout is a fine example of early 20th century Folk Art. Nice use of decorative dragon and eagle motifs contrasted by an otherwise Primitive, simplistic design.
There is a split to the wood near one of the eagle's heads, which has not been repaired or filled (result of the wood becoming brittle from age).
However, the eagle's head is sturdy / sound and is not at risk of coming detached.
The seat has been newly reupholstered in an olive green velvet.
