Description
A single of French designer Marcel Gascoin French oak tabouret or side table. Edition Trefle for Arhec, circa 1953.
Marcel Gascoin was part of the French reconstruction furniture movement after WWII. It was furniture designed for the people that went through the war and was a break from the earlier very decorative periods in French design.
This tabouret has been cleaned and re waxed.
An interesting article published on Gascoin in Architectural Digest, March 15 by Vance Muse. Hidden in plain sight.
Original finish patina as found.
