Mid-Century Sculptural Chairs by Stella, France, 1950s

$ 1,100
  • Description
    Sculptural chairs by French manufacturer Stella, crafted in the 1950s. Known for their innovative use of hidden bolts, Stella’s designs offered both strength and elegance - a legacy begun when the company shifted from wheelbarrows to furniture in the 1920s. These chairs feature beautifully curved, horn-like back supports in a rich reddish wood paired with delicately shaped seats and backrests in a lighter timber, chosen for its warm, honeyed tone and subtle grain. The interplay of contrasting woods gives them a dynamic, almost organic character. Retaining their original Stella labels, these are rare examples of mid-century rural French craftsmanship with an industrial mind. Priced per piece.
