Description
This highly coveted Thayer Coggin 3-piece sectional sofa is absolutely extraordinary. The sofa is comprised of three components that can be used individually or placed together to form an over-sized semi-circle. Each element fully restored in a teal velvet upholstery complete with new foam. This is the most comfortable sofa ever designed by Milo Baughman and creates an unimaginably intimate seating environment. The perfect sofa for parties and entertaining and a rare find with the Brazilian rosewood plinth base. In such a luxuriously soft velvet this sofa truly is the king of sectional sofas!
The camera was unable to capture the richness of the textile because it is such a lush velvet with a deep, luxurious pile. It has a luscious iridescent effect to the color blending of the teal with the subtle pinstripes that really adds to the allure.
We used 40 yards of 989-221 CLASSY / MALLARD from Perennials Fabrics at $115/yd. If you need a sample they can send one to you.
The proportions of these early original examples produced by Thayer Coggin are unparalleled.
The entire circle from side to side measures 14 feet. From the front of the armrests to the back of the center section in the configuration shown the measurement is 10 feet. The depth of each element is 34? and the height to the top of the back cushions is 28?. The seat height is 16.5?
Circa 1969. The base has been professionally refinished and is in perfect condition.
