Description
Each of these Louis XV period chaises à la Reine has a cartouche-shaped back with a flower-carved crest, above an over-upholstered serpentine-front seat with flower carved apron continuing to cabriole legs ending in scroll feet.
The signature of Nicolas Longe was also found on a large fauteuil “á la Reine” which was in continuation of the Regence spirit sold at the Hotel Drouot in 1988. Of natural beech, carved with supple shells, flower leaves and scrolls. The legs had fine and original curved form. -
