Otto Zapf Sofalette leather two-seater sofa, 1970

$ 1,350
  • Description
    This set of two modular chairs from the Otto Zapf Sofalette range was designed by Otto Zapf in the 1970s. The black leather of the modular chairs displays a fantastic patina in places and is in very good condition. The base is a fiberglass shell, which is in age-appropriate condition for both chairs. There are no cracks, only slight chips along the upper edge, which are barely noticeable when the chair is in place. The two modules were designed as a two-seater sofa but can also be used as individual seating elements.

    In 1958, Otto Zapf founded the company Vitsoe+Zapf together with Niels Vitsoe and collaborated with Dieter Rams. In 1969, Otto Zapf left the joint venture and in 1970 designed the Softline System, which became a great success for him. Afterwards, Otto Zapf worked as a designer for Knoll International. His designs were manufactured by Knoll International, B&B Italia, and others.
