Pair of French Louis XIII Style 19th Century Os de Mouton Wooden Fauteuils

$ 3,500
  • Description
    A pair of French Louis XIII style wooden os de mouton armchairs from the 19th century, with slanted camelbacks, large scrolling arms, cross stretchers and used upholstery. Created in France during the 19th century, this pair of fauteuils showcases the stylish characteristics of the Louis XIII era. Each armchair features a tall, slightly slanted camelback, connected to two large scrolling arms resting on curving supports. The seat and back are both upholstered with a used floral-themed fabric in a poor condition particularly visible on the seat. The ensemble is raised on an os de mouton (mutton leg) base made of four scrolling legs connected to one another through a cross stretcher of similar style. The fabric is secured thanks to a nailhead trim. With their nice proportions and Louis XIII style lines, this pair of French os de mouton fauteuils from the 19th century will bring a majestic presence to any home, whether placed in a living room, bedroom or study!
