Louis XVI Period Chest Of Drawers In Cherry Wood
-
Description
A stately Louis XVI period chest of drawers crafted in cherry wood, likely of Swiss origin, dating from the late 18th century. This elegant commode features three full-length drawers, each framed by fine crosspieces and adorned with classic circular bronze drop handles and brass escutcheons. The design highlights the symmetry and architectural rigor of the Louis XVI style, with two fully fluted, turned front legs and matching fluted square rear uprights that extend the full height of the piece. Resting gracefully on four tapered feet, this chest is capped with a solid cherry wood top that beautifully showcases the warm grain and honeyed patina developed over centuries. A working key is included. Both functional and refined, this commode offers timeless sophistication and generous storage.
