Description
This stunning pair of cocktail lounge chairs revolves around the use of high-quality materials, comfort, and the mastery of the era’s European cabinetmakers. The open design is focused on the aesthetics of modernism, whilst employing the exquisite technique and material familiarity of highly skilled craftsmen. These chairs in many ways transcend the word ‘modern’, thanks to their timeless look.
Cocktail chairs first emerged in the 1950s, with a distinct style of thick seats, a somewhat cupped back, and dainty pointed legs that jut out at an angle. This pair embodies all of these characteristics beautifully. Mid-century modern design has a penchant for soft curves and organic forms, and these chairs are no exception. The preference for such design elements arises from their ability to soften the lines of a room, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. As it can be expected from European mid-century pieces, the unity of functionality and comfort are still kept at the core of the design. This is especially evident in the enveloping backs and the pointed legs. The solid wood legs’ rich colour and grain further highlight the rust-coloured upholstery, creating a balanced look. Thanks to its visual qualities, this pair of infinitely cosy cocktail chairs can break the restrained aesthetic of any minimalist space.
The flowing lines and gentle curves of these chairs offer a pleasing contrast to the clean lines and angular shapes often associated with mid-century modern interiors. They seamlessly integrate into a variety of design schemes, enhancing the overall aesthetic and imbuing the space with a touch of timeless elegance.
