Set of Eight Chrome Paul Evans Studio Dining Armchairs 1973

An original 60 year old set of eight chrome armchairs on coasters by Paul Evans created at the Paul Evans Studio designed as part of a house commission for the home of personal friends.
The upholstery is original as pictured in the last photo.
Dorsey Reading, Paul Evans's studio chief and close confidant has certified that these eight armchairs chairs were handcrafted at the Paul Evans studio and the chairs iare unique.
An unusual aspect of the armchairs is that the placement or composition of the chrome panels that clad the chair frames is an individual design to each chair and not repeated within this group of eight armchairs.
The overall design of the frames is also uniquely scaled and was only used for this commission.
The majority of the chairs retain Paul Evans paper labels on the underside of the seats with a hand written notation "spec. dining chairs" and dated 1973
Re-upholstering with your fabric is included in the purchase price.
I also have available separately a matching Paul Evans Directional Cityscape dining table (1973-1978) ( see last photo) similarly clad in mirrored chrome panels measuring 84" x 42" with an additional 15" leaf as shown. The corner supports of the dining table are 4 inch square and the chair supports are 3 inch square.
The chairs are in good vintage condition.
There is some slight wear though as expected such as rub marks here and there from use., the photos are true.
Eight Paul Evans Studio armchairs are a great set. -
