Description
A set of sculptural pedestal chairs in black enamel steel frame and red leather upholstery designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava (1951-). These limited production chairs were manufactured by De Sede for the famed Tabourettli Theatre in Basel, Switzerland. In 1986, Calatrava was commissioned to design the seating for the most famous cabaret theater, as a result, they display a restrained playfulness while retaining the elegancy. The frame may seem more sculptural than practical, but the intelligent ergonomic designs in the tripod form leg and semi-circular back support render them rather stable and comfortable. These chairs remain in fine original condition, still covered in the stitched dark red leather with zipper accent.
It is possible we can consider selling them in pairs at 7000.
