Description
A graceful set of 12 Swedish Gustavian style dining chairs, crafted in the early 20th century and showcasing the clean lines and restrained ornamentation characteristic of the neoclassical Scandinavian aesthetic. Each chair features an arched backrest with pierced, lyre-shaped splats, echoing classical motifs with a light and airy presence.
The frames are constructed from solid wood, likely birch or beech, and retain their original painted finish in a soft, chalky white. Subtle distressing along the edges reveals traces of the natural wood beneath, lending authenticity and texture. Carved rosettes sit at each corner above the fluted front legs, which are united by simple stretchers for added stability.
Newly upholstered in a neutral, durable linen or linen-blend fabric, the seats are generously padded and ready for everyday use. The set is well-suited for large-scale entertaining, offering a rare opportunity to furnish a full dining room with matched period seating.
Timeless, elegant, and structurally sound, this set of twelve Swedish dining chairs brings understated sophistication to both classic and contemporary interiors.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
