Set of Six Empire-Style Gondola Dining Chairs

Description
This is a charming set of six carved and inlaid mahogany dining chairs in the French Empire style. The chairs date to the second half of the 20th century and are in very good condition. Chairs in the Empire-style with scooped back and carved curved top rails are uncommon and elegant; they could coordinat with a variety of styles--Empire, Directoire or even Louis XVI. The chairs are upholstered in a carmel-colored empire style fabric with a Napoleonic Bee motif. Although the upholstery is not new, it is in good condition. We have spiffed up the mahogany frames with a couple of coats of hard paste wax in the traditional French style.
