Historic Casa Encantada Sofa by T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings for Peterson Studios, circa 1937–1938
A rare custom Neo-Classical Art Moderne sofa, crafted in hand-carved sycamore and featuring stylized wing motifs, scrolling carved details, and flared legs. The seat has been professionally reupholstered in quilted mohair and includes two matching bolster cushions.
Designed for the interiors of Casa Encantada, this sofa reflects the refined classicism and exceptional craftsmanship associated with T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings' collaboration with architect James Dolena on the legendary Bel Air estate.

Casa Encantada, at 10644 Bellagio Road in Bel Air, Los Angeles, is a landmark Neoclassical residence designed by James Dolena with interiors by T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings. Completed in the late 1930s, the estate has been among the most expensive residential properties ever sold in the United States.
