A Warren McArthur Corporation matched pair of model 917-3 3-seater sofas from the late 30s.
A stunning example of Art Moderne or Machine Age design, this pair of Warren McArthur Model 917-3 sofas exemplifies the innovative craftsmanship and aesthetic sophistication that defined the Warren McArthur Corporation.
Renowned for pioneering lightweight, minimalist furniture in the 1930s and 1940s,
McArthur revolutionized modern furniture and aircraft seating design with his use of aluminum and sleek, tubular frames.
His furniture combined functional elegance with artistic innovation, making each piece both a statement of style and a reflection of technological progress.
The Model 917-3 sofas feature impeccably crafted tubular aluminum frames with a refined, sculptural form.created in 1930 for the lounge area of the Arizona Biltmore
The plush cushions are upholstered in an off-white boucle fabric, co-ordinating beautifully with the industrial elegance of the frame.
