Description
There are pieces that furnish a room and there are pieces that alter its atmosphere entirely and this sculptural Weiman chaise created at the height of American postmodernism in the early 1990s belongs decidedly to the latter now reimagined in tangerine orange Holland & Sherry Wool. Its voluptuous silhouette flows in a single continuous gesture with an enveloping crescent back, a sweeping seat, and an organically carved base that seems less constructed than formed. The asymmetrical profile possesses the confidence of late twentieth-century design at its most expressive. Presented here in a vibrant tangerine orange Holland and Sherry wool, the chaise takes on an entirely new character. The saturated color amplifies its sculptural lines, while the luxurious wool lends a richness and depth that softens every curve. The result is a piece that feels simultaneously glamorous, provocative, and remarkably inviting. Viewed from every angle, the chaise reveals subtle shifts in form—the rising crest of the back, the gently descending arm, and the floating quality of the seat as it extends outward in a fluid gesture. It is equally compelling placed as a solitary statement piece or paired in conversation with its mirrored counterpart.
We at Interior Motives believe exceptional upholstery can transform a design while honoring its original spirit. This piece was newly reupholstered in Holland & Sherry tangerine orange wool, though the chaise may also be offered COM (Customer’s Own Material), allowing clients to tailor the piece to their own interiors and sensibilities. Please allow 8 to 12 weeks lead time.
