Description
Remarkable 18th Century baroque secrétaire/ bureau cabinet elaborately handcrafted in the period around 1770 in Austria. As former part of the inventory of an old Upperaustrian castle, this incredible piece of baroque furniture was made with carefully selected veneer like nutwood, walnut, ash, maple and cherry which has been set up in a very unique design. The lower part, a fantastic looking, artfully curved chest of drawers provides three large drawers. The elegantly designed attached upper part impresses with seven drawers and a beautiful inlaid center door that houses another storage room divided into three compartments. Inside this you will find three bolts on each sidewall locking every drawer seperately. The fall front writing surface upholstered with red felt hides another four small drawers. Additionally two smaller drawers can be found on the outsides of this 18th century baroque cabinet. Beautiful brass fittings, the solid nutwood carvings at the top and a charming patina finalizes the exceptional look of this over 250 year old masterpiece of a baroque secretary/ tabernacle or bureau cabinet.
