Arne Vodder sideboard 1960s
-
Description
Teak wood sideboard with three colored sliding doors, typical of the Danish style of Anne Vorder, who loved to mix Danish minimalism with the boldness of pop art. The sideboard has shelves and drawers that slide outwards.
Vodder is famous for her simple, well-proportioned furniture designs, with a strong emphasis on functionality and the use of natural materials.
She preferred fine woods such as teak.
Some of her pieces, particularly her famous sideboards, sometimes feature brightly colored contrasting panels.
She worked with leading Danish manufacturers such as Sibast, France & Søn, Nielaus, and Fritz Hansen, designing a wide range of furniture including tables, desks, chairs, and, above all, sideboards. -
