Description
A refined silhouette that pairs precision with subtle material contrast, this 1980s cabinet by Belgochrom reflects the quiet luxury that defined Belgian design at the close of the 20th century.
Design
The cabinet’s surface is finished in a brushed bronze effect, with circular motion lines catching the light and animating the otherwise restrained geometry. The doors are framed by slim brass edging, maintaining the firm graphic lines typical of Belgochrom’s production. Inside, the matte black interior offers adjustable shelving, balancing practicality with clean minimalism.
Two base options are available: a rectangular brass open frame for a more sculptural, elevated presence, or a darker plinth for a grounded and compact form. This modularity reflects the era's emphasis on adaptable design, where functional pieces were meant to shift easily between residential and professional environments. Whether used as a bar, vitrine, or storage piece, this cabinet sits comfortably in both modernist and classic interiors.
Belgochrom, active primarily in the 1970s and 80s, became known for its controlled use of metal finishes and architectural compositions, often referencing Bauhaus clarity with a warmer material palette.
Condition
This cabinet is in vintage condition, with light wear to the brass surfaces and subtle patina on the bronze finish. Doors and hinges function smoothly. Two base styles are available. -
