Description
Rare Austrian Biedermeier ashwood cabinet, elaborately handcrafted in the period around 1840. The solid spruce body shows an amazing looking thick veneered ashwood surface with amazing looking grain, additionally embellished by fantastic delicate inlay works on the top/ base of the pilaster strips. The whole cabinet has been sealed by a traditional hand-polished shellac finish. Straight shaped so-called "stamp" legs and a two-door front showing a lovely "pretzel" design, confers this antique Biedermeier cabinet a really unique appearance. This antique cabinet offers a lot of storage space, whereby the inside offers a wooden hanging rod and a large compartment. The still original lock is fully functionable and adorned by two artfully shaped metal keyblades. A really exceptional piece of a 19th century ashwood Biedermeier cabinet which can also be easily fully dismantled to save expensive shipping costs.
