Probably Ohio, ca. 1820-1830
Pine, polychrome paint
Over-all in fine condition, retaining its original polychrome-decorated surface., minor wear commensurate to age and use. In a desirable compact size, this diminutive blanket chest with inset panels having a molded top and base moldings is highlighted with vibrant polychrome paint. The lid is further enhanced with geometric design elements of triangles and circles. The chest is supported by foreshortened legs ending on ball feet.
