Description
Crafted in oak during the 17th century, this antique chest reflects the enduring influence of Renaissance furniture traditions through its rhythmic geometric paneling and architectural composition. The façade is defined by deeply carved motifs arranged with notable symmetry, lending the piece a restrained decorative character while preserving its utilitarian origin. The surface has acquired a rich and nuanced patina over centuries of use, emphasizing the depth and texture of the solid oak construction.
With its balanced proportions and sculptural presence, the chest functions equally well as storage and as a standalone architectural object within an interior. The visible wear and irregularities remain consistent with age and historical use, reinforcing the authenticity of the piece. All our rustic furniture has undergone a two-cycle preventive woodworm treatment for long-term care and preservation. -
