English 18th Century Solid Oak Pot Board

Dimensions: 76 ⅝” H x 58 ¾” W x 19 ¾” D

A stunning 18th-century English pot board. Made from solid oak in the 1780s, this piece is finished with a dark stain and a richly patinated surface. Visible throughout are the wooden dowels used to secure joints, which speak to the cabinet’s fine craftsmanship. The top has a boarded back and three shelves for displaying serveware or china. The upper shelf measures 6 ⅜” deep, and the middle and lower shelves both measure 3 ⅛” deep. Both the upper and middle shelves have five cuphooks along their faces. The bottom cabinet includes seven drawers arranged in a T-shape. Each drawer opens smoothly with two brass bail pulls. Most of the original brass locks have been removed, and their key has been lost to time. Two paneled doors open with brass knobs to reveal spacious interiors, perfect for storing bulkier items. The cabinet rests atop four sturdy block feet. Gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, ready for use in your interiors. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
