English 19th Century Pine Buffet-Dresser

$ 4,800
  • Description
    Dimensions: 37” H x 60” W x 18 ⅝” D

    A gorgeous pine buffet from 19th century England, the restrained construction highlights the glowing effect of the blonde wood for eyecatching storage in any room. The top surface is simply constructed in a breadboard formation, dotted with the dark knots and patina from regular use. Within the frieze sit two large drawers using Chippendale-style brass drop handles mounted on backplates which are likely not original to the piece but complement the amber tones. Below the drawers are two paneled doors enclosing the undivided cabinet using tiny brass knobs and secured by wood latches. The long, interior shelf measures 16 ¼” deep. Cleaned, tightened, and polished with a French paste wax to preserve all the historic character, this antique case piece is ready for its next home.
