French Oak Table De Chevet with Sliding-Door Cabinets and Three Drawers, 1890s
-
Description
A French oak bedside table with two reeded sliding-door cabinets and three drawers from the late 19th century. This French 'table de chevet' features a rectangular top surrounded by a three-quarter wooden gallery, sitting above two reeded sliding doors flanking three small size dovetailed drawers, all opening with wooden pulls. Each door slides to reveal a nice storage area, perfect for books and other possessions. The sides are simply adorned with raised panels standing out on a recessed background. A beautifully scalloped apron connects the four cabriole legs to one another. With its elegant Silhouette and beautiful oak patina, this French side table, circa 1890, will work beautifully as a nightstand.
