Description
A refined Swedish bench dating to circa 1880, embodying the graceful elegance of the Neoclassical style. The frame is delicately carved and retains traces of its original painted finish, a soft white that has acquired a beautiful patina over time. The apron is enriched with classical motifs, including carved rosettes and fluted details, lending a sense of symmetry and timeless refinement. Raised on tapered, fluted legs, the bench exudes balance and proportion, hallmarks of 19th-century Swedish craftsmanship. The seat is upholstered in a deep black fabric, providing a striking contrast to the pale painted wood while offering comfort and versatility for modern use. Ideal at the foot of a bed, in an entryway, or as additional seating in a salon, this piece seamlessly blends antique authenticity with understated sophistication. A perfect example of late 19th-century Swedish design, it adds character, elegance, and functionality to any interior.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
