Description
An exquisite 18th century Italian commode showcasing masterful marquetry and timeless elegance. This refined piece features three long drawers, each adorned with geometric inlay patterns in contrasting light and dark wood veneers, creating a chevron like effect framed by delicate borders.
The top is equally striking, centered by a bold oval motif surrounded by elegant linear inlays, adding depth and visual rhythm to the surface. Crafted in walnut and enriched with fruitwood and other fine veneers, the commode rests on tapered legs that contribute to its graceful silhouette.
The escutcheons and brass hardware are original and beautifully preserved, complementing the rich warmth of the wood. A fine example of Italian craftsmanship, likely of northern origin, this commode is both functional and sculptural, perfect for adding sophistication to an entryway, bedroom, or refined living space.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
