Description
The Bramante cabinet was designed by Kazuhide Takahama during his long collaboration with Dino Gavina, Bologna, in the mid-1970s.
It was originally made of lacquered wood on the outside, in lacquer red, turquoise, and black. The interior is the same color, but in laminated wood, revealing the natural grain. The central door is slightly higher than the two corner doors, lending greater dynamism. The internal shelves are not adjustable. When Gavina ceased production, the copyright for this and other Takahama pieces was acquired by Cassina, which still produces the cabinet, albeit with substantial modifications to the interior. The glass shelves were replaced with solid glass shelves, and the cup holders inside the two side doors were removed. The cabinet is in excellent condition: a small chip in the lacquer under the central door has been carefully restored. -
