Lift-Top Painted Blanket Chest
New England, early 19th c.
Poplar with blue paint
Over-all in excellent condition, retaining original blue paint with minor scratches and wear to top.
Provenance: Collection of a prominent Long Island, New York family.
In a desirable size, this blanket chest has a molded, hinged top fitted with an interior well above a side-mounted drawer with a dovetailed case raised on a bracket base with pronounced valence apron.
