Description
Mid-century modern bespoke Italian six-drawer chest cabinet, handcrafted in Italy and designed in a bold contemporary modern style inspired by Pop Art and postmodern design. This striking piece was created as part of a custom contemporary collection intended to express the power of color and its ability to personalize interior spaces, combining artistic design with functional furniture. The cabinet features a graphic geometric façade composed of six drawers, each framed in natural gilt brass trim and decorated with reversed hand-painted colored glass panels. The colors may vary by design and can include tones such as lapis lazuli blue, gray, chartreuse green, apple green, hunter green, yellow, navy blue, and earth brown, allowing the piece to bring strong visual character and personality to a room. The drawer fronts are further enhanced with ribbed glass elements and handmade cast brass handles, carefully designed to follow the geometric pattern and emphasize the craftsmanship.
The case is raised on modern brass splayed tapering legs, giving the cabinet a light and elegant appearance while maintaining stability. The combination of glass, brass, and vivid color creates a refined yet playful aesthetic, typical of high-quality Italian bespoke furniture of the late 20th century. Because of its versatile proportions, the piece can be used as a chest, commode, sideboard, or cabinet, and works equally well in a bedroom, living room, entry hall, or contemporary interior where a strong decorative statement is desired. The cabinet measures approximately 30.5 inches high, 59.5 inches wide, and 20 inches deep overall, with the body of the furniture about 20 inches high, and each drawer measuring approximately 9.5 inches high by 19 inches wide. Overall in good condition, with minor wear. -
