Description
This early 19th-century French shelving unit belongs to the tradition of vernacular country furniture, created for everyday use rather than formal display. Its restrained proportions, fixed shelves and hand-crafted construction reflect the practical ingenuity of rural craftsmanship, while the richly weathered surface and naturally developed patina embody a quiet Wabi-Sabi aesthetic, celebrating the beauty of age, imperfection and authenticity. The irregularities, historic wear and subtle traces of use are integral to the piece's character and speak to generations of domestic life. All our rustic furniture has undergone a two-cycle preventive woodworm treatment for long-term care.
